Making a change whether it's work or personal interest related, can be daunting!
Within this past year, I finally realised that the job title, salary expectations and overall career I was chasing to achieve, actually wasn't what I really wanted.
I spent my childhood believing the chain to follow was School, College, University and then ultimately obtaining my dream job...and that was it, I simply wanted to be a career woman.
Do you notice when you meet anyone new, one of their first questions is "So what do you do?"
your career/ job choice is ultimately how some will fit you in to a bubble to define what type of person you are...and I am completely guilty of doing this to others also!
This is not necessarily a criticism but an interesting analysis; I felt completely owned by my job title and it really meant something to me when introducing myself to others.
However now, I have no job title.
I am working on me and what I want...now I believe I deserve more than what a Manager at a company believes i'm worth; whether I'm owed a promotion, if I deserve that annual pay increase or just generally if I receive a good appraisal - I now choose to decide what I'm worth and not base it on anyone else!
